I was absolutely delighted and frankly amazed at the number of Zimbabweans who are on Facebook. Bravo. I am thrilled to see such networking.
This is the last leg towards 2010 and the FIFA World Cup. It is absolutely imperative that we network.
Lets spread word about the good things in Zimbabwe. Our business needs good publicity. We have to do this for our country, ourselves and our children.
Those already on the networking sites, thank you for doing us proud. Those not yet started, the time to make a change is now.

Everyday is a new beginning. Each hour a fresh start. Actually, each minute is a potential turning point. My battle is still to be disciplined enough to do this blogging , o.k. say twice a week for October. Lets keep tabs and see how I manage. While I struggle with my blogging, why dont you look at a challenging situation in your own life and make the same commitment to try and turn it around or overcome the obstacle. A long journey begins with the first step. The best of everything to us all.

Blogging is not easy. If you see people who post on a daily basis, they are organised, disciplined, committed, open minded and hard working. I do not depress myself by describing myself as someone possessing nothing other than all the above mentioned attributes – which those who know me know I do so, how come the last posting is in May and this is August????? I will tell you why when I next post. Love to all who read this. Smile and be happy. You are alive.

I have recounted the money six times. It is all there, all twenty billion of it or US$50 as per interbank exchange rate today. I went to Chisipite intending to get a bit of groceries. One blanket costs 67 billion dollars, so I cannot afford that. Lets see, one kilogram of chicken, thats 1.5 billion dollars. A loaf of bread at two hundred and fifty million dollars. A kilogram of tomatoes at five hundred million dollars and 5kg of potatoes at 4 billion dollars. Margarine is going for six hundred million dollars, a piece of cheddar cheese, six hundred million dollars and two packets of diapers at 1.5 billion dollars for a packet of six. Chicken pie at two hundred and sixty million dollars and what else? Better add up my millions to see how much I have left.

Saving money isn’t all about whether or not you know how to score screaming bargains.
It has more to do with your attitude toward money.
Here are 10 key traits:
1. Patience - Patience is one of the most important traits when it comes to saving money.
This means waiting until the first wave of product hype has passed, keeping a car for an extra few years before getting another one and waiting until something you want fits into your budget instead of putting it on credit.
2. Satisfaction - When you’re satisfied, there is no reason to spend money on nonessentials. When you are satisfied with what you have and your life (not trying to live like those on TV), your finances will be in a lot better shape.
3. Organization - Being organized can make you more productive and ensure that all the many issues pertaining to personal finances are addressed.
4. Discipline
You need the discipline to continue to save money for specific, long-term goals every month.
5. Reflectiveness - It’s important to be able to look at your financial decisions and reflect on their results. You’re going to make financial mistakes. Everyone does. The key is to learn from those mistakes so you don’t make them again, or recognize if you keep repeating them.
6. Creativity - The economy and our earnings don’t always match our expectations. Creativity is essential to accomplish this. Creativity allows you to make something last longer rather than purchasing it when you don’t have the money. It means juggling money to stay out of debt.
7. Curiosity - Having curiosity helps you learn, study and improve yourself.
The curiosity of wanting to know more, to take the time to study and then take what is learned and put into practice is an important process that is driven by curiosity.
8. Risk-Taking - To build wealth, one needs to be willing to take risks. This doesn’t mean uncalculated risks. It means weighing all the options and taking calculated risks when appropriate.
9. Goal-Oriented - If you don’t know where you are going, it’s difficult to get there. It helps your personal finances immensely if you have money goals and are motivated to reach the goals that you have set for yourself.

This blog is for all of you. We will talk about everyday LIFE and its few good experiences – until YOU start to contribute. Then we will hear about EVERYONE’s life. I have no way of saying how soon this will happen seeing that everyone talks about only two things these days, politics and prices. I’m not immune to what is happening and it is true emotions are running deep, so in an effort to keep us all out of trouble, we will keep to trouble-free topics.
Self introduction – I am somewhere above the age where you do not mention figures but pretend and act half that age in dress, hairstyle, mannerism, speech and eh conjugal matters. .Obviously I haven’t seen it all, though I have done quite a bit. I got my share of twists and turns and I’m still standing chiefly because there are very few good chairs left in the country right now and all of them are taken. I know a lot of people and lots more know me. I mean there is my family, brothers and sisters, their families, their in-laws, my in laws and my sons, daughters, their friends and all our aunts, uncles (real and wannabes) nieces and nephews etcetera. That is a LOT of people. If I haven’t made you laugh or smile or whinge and whine, its not my fault that you were born without a sense of rumour.
Buy/Sell, discuss and let us continue to pray for Zimbabwe.
